This achievement validates the energy efficiency and performance of Gradient window heat pumps and opens the door to a wide range of incentive and rebate opportunities.
What does ENERGY STAR certification mean for Gradient’s All-Weather 120V window heat pump?
This certification aligns with our commitment to energy equity by helping reduce upfront costs for customers while supporting larger goals of sustainability and decarbonization.
The criteria for certification
Gradient’s window heat pumps undergo two key testing procedures to ensure their efficiency: the Combined Energy Efficiency Ratio (CEER) for cooling and the Heating Energy Efficiency Ratio (HEER) for heating.
CEER measures the seasonal cooling efficiency of window ACs. We have already met and surpassed this requirement, achieving ENERGY STAR certification and becoming the most efficient window AC available on the market.
For the heating mode, the testing procedure is based on HEER, which evaluates the seasonal heating efficiency of window heat pumps. The test method for HEER was released in July 2024, and we are currently awaiting the specification level from ENERGY STAR.
These testing processes are critical for Gradient’s commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency. By achieving both CEER and HEER standards, our window heat pumps will continue to deliver exceptional performance, minimizing energy consumption and environmental impact, while also providing accessible and affordable solution
Our commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency
ENERGY STAR certification plays a significant role in reinforcing Gradient’s commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency. As a producer of highly efficient window heat pumps, Gradient aligns closely with the ENERGY STAR’s goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and helping consumers save on energy costs without sacrificing performance.
An ENERGY STAR certification ensures that Gradient's window heat pumps meet rigorous energy efficiency standards, verified through independent testing. This not only affirms the product’s superior energy performance but also demonstrates Gradient’s dedication to decarbonizing the built environment. By delivering ENERGY STAR-certified products, folks can be confident that their Gradient windows heat pumps will minimize environmental impact while lowering energy bills.
Recently, Our Director of Business Development, Bryant, took the stage at the 2024 ENERGY STAR Products Partner Meeting, sharing the successful launch of the All-Weather 120V window heat pump in NYCHA homes.
The conference included leading utilities, state and local sustainability offices, and manufacturers from across the country.
We’re proud to be part of such impactful conversations driving sustainable change.
